Does the CFL have a “feel” on certain days?

By Ron Raymond of The PST
You know how certain days have a feel to them?
I know this might be a flashback to an old Seinfeld episode, but let me explain and add a “lighter” side to this article.
For example, Monday is like the no feel day, the day you would like to skip and just head to Tuesday, except during NFL football season or Labour Day. Keep in mind I’m using a CFL angle here, but with an NFL twist!
Staying on Monday here, it’s the day to get the ball rolling. In reality, Monday is the day we just run through the motions and look forward to watching 24! Back in the old days, Tuesday night was considered Chicken Wings and Beer night, but now wings and beer have been replaced with coffee and a 12-step program.
Wednesday is considered hump day and for those who went to Military boot camps, Wednesday is considered “Black Wednesday” or “Suitcase Shuffle” day, as it’s the day some recruits get re-coursed or sent packing. In fact, if you’re bilingual and get CBC-French either in the States or in Canada, Wednesday night at 9pm is the best TV time to watch “Les Bougons”, as I’ve dubbed this episode “Seinfeld French”!
Now, my favorite day of them all, Thursday! Thursday has the greatest feel of all days during football season, as it’s the unofficial start of the “Football Weekend”! Normally it starts off with Thursday night College Football and in the good ole days, we can catch the late west coast hockey games. However, those were the good old days, as hockey is now an acquired taste by many!
Friday is the master of all days, the head “poh-bah” day, it’s the official end of the work-week for most and you know Friday Night football is just around the dial on TSN. So, grab your Wendy’s Chicken Spicey Burger and frosty to support Wendy’s Friday night football will ya!
Saturdays can have different feels! Let see if you can relate; It can be up with the kids, grab your Timmy’s coffee and out to practice day. Or, it could be sleeping in until noon and nursing that 26oz flu day, knowing when you were supposed to be home with supper 12 hrs ago!
However, on the 7th day, the “Football Gods” created Sunday or as it’s better known in these necks of the woods, “Football Sunday”! In reality, it could be called the day football teams ruined our pool sheets!
Now, that is just how we feel during certain days. Let’s see how football players feel during the season.
